In these terms and conditions, the following definitions apply:
Maine Couriers Ltd provides same day courier, overnight delivery, multi-drop, supply chain logistics, and European/international courier services. We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year from our base in Coventry, West Midlands, with nationwide UK coverage.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all consignments are carried on a dedicated, direct vehicle from collection point to delivery point. We do not operate a hub-and-spoke model, meaning your items are not sorted or transferred between vehicles during transit.
3.1. A booking may be made by telephone, email, WhatsApp, or through our website. A contract for carriage is formed when we confirm acceptance of your booking.

3.3. We reserve the right to refuse any booking at our discretion, including but not limited to situations where the consignment contains prohibited items, the collection or delivery location is inaccessible, or the customer has outstanding unpaid invoices.
4.1. We aim to collect consignments within 60 minutes of booking confirmation, subject to driver availability and location. Collection times are estimates and not guaranteed unless specifically agreed in writing.
4.2. The customer must ensure that the consignment is ready for collection at the agreed time and location. If our driver arrives and the consignment is not ready, we reserve the right to charge a waiting fee or rebook the collection.
4.3. If the customer is not available at the collection address and no prior arrangement has been made, we may charge a failed collection fee.
5.1. We will make reasonable efforts to deliver the consignment within the estimated timeframe provided at the time of booking. Delivery times are estimates unless a guaranteed delivery time has been expressly agreed in writing.
5.2. Delivery is made to the address specified by the customer. If the recipient is not available, we will attempt to contact the customer for alternative instructions. If no instructions are received, we may return the consignment to the collection address or our premises, and additional charges may apply.
5.3. We will provide proof of delivery (POD) including the recipient's name, signature, and time of delivery. The POD constitutes evidence of delivery.
5.4. Any claim for non-delivery or damage must be notified to us in writing within 7 days of the scheduled delivery date.
6.1. All consignments are covered by our goods-in-transit insurance. Our standard liability is limited to the lower of:
6.2. Enhanced insurance cover can be arranged for high-value consignments. The customer must declare the value of the consignment at the time of booking if it exceeds our standard cover limit.

If prohibited items are discovered in a consignment, we reserve the right to refuse carriage, return the items to the sender at the sender's expense, or report the matter to the relevant authorities.
9.1. Payment is due upon completion of delivery unless a credit account has been agreed.
9.2. For credit account customers, payment terms are 30 days from the date of invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.
9.3. We accept payment by bank transfer, credit card, and debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express).

10.1. You may cancel a booking at any time before a driver has been dispatched to collect your consignment, at no charge.
10.2. If a driver has already been dispatched or has arrived at the collection point, a cancellation fee may apply to cover the driver's time and fuel costs.
10.3. Once a consignment has been collected, cancellation is not possible. If you wish to redirect or return the consignment, additional charges will apply.
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
In the event of a force majeure event, we will notify you as soon as reasonably practicable and use reasonable efforts to minimise the impact on our services.
We treat all customer information and consignment details as confidential. We will not disclose your information to third parties except as necessary to perform our services (e.g., providing delivery addresses to drivers), as required by law, or as set out in our Privacy Policy.

We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 2 working days and provide a full response within 10 working days.
14.1. Any claim for loss, damage, or delay must be notified to us in writing within 7 days of delivery (or scheduled delivery date in the case of non-delivery).
14.2. Failure to notify us within this timeframe may result in the claim being barred.
14.3. Our total aggregate liability for any and all claims arising from a single consignment shall not exceed the limits set out in Section 6.
We reserve the right to subcontract the whole or any part of the carriage to third-party carriers. Where we subcontract, we remain responsible to the customer for the performance of the services in accordance with these terms.
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These terms and conditions, together with any written quotation or booking confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between the customer and the Company. No variation of these terms shall be effective unless agreed in writing by both parties.
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
