Get a QuoteMaine Couriers operates a specialist same day medical courier service from Southam. We move clinical samples, surgical specimens, urgent medication, controlled drugs and lab equipment with the handling discipline that healthcare and pharmaceutical customers expect: tamper-evident packaging where required and chain-of-custody on every Southam job.
From Southam we move blood and tissue samples in sealed specimen containers, biological specimens in tamper-evident bags, urgent prescriptions and controlled drugs under pharmacist-approved processes, clinical trial investigational medicinal products and bulky lab equipment on Luton or 7.5 tonne vehicles where the consignment requires it. Every Southam medical job is documented from collection to delivery.
Southam customers in healthcare and pharma audit our processes regularly. The chain-of-custody trail on each Southam job is auditable, the driver vetting records are maintained, the GDP-aligned procedures are documented, and any incident is logged with a root-cause review attached. None of that is optional — it's the baseline for staying contracted in Southam medical work.
The Southam medical customer base is broad. Hospital pathology departments, university research labs, clinical trial sites, fertility clinics, veterinary practices, dental laboratories, pharmaceutical wholesalers, and care home pharmacies are all regular bookers of our same day Southam medical service. The handling spec varies; the dedicated-vehicle, chain-of-custody model doesn't.
Our Southam medical drivers cover the surrounding hospitals, clinics, labs, and pharma sites listed below. Every nearby Southam location is quoted on the same per-mile, per-vehicle basis as the city centre — no postcode surcharges or rural fees on medical jobs.
What separates us in the Southam medical market is operational consistency. Vetted drivers, briefed on each Southam consignment, in tracked vehicles, with GDP-aligned handling and chain-of-custody documentation on every run. Customers don't have to re-explain their requirements every time — we know them, we run to them, and we hold ourselves accountable when something slips.
Every consignment is briefed to the driver before collection. From Southam, samples travel sealed in the sender's packaging, upright and secured in one dedicated vehicle and are signed for by the named recipient at the destination.
Drivers on sensitive Southam medical work — clinical samples, controlled drugs, NHS contracts — are DBS-checked, briefed on chain-of-custody handling, and trained on the specific customer protocols required for each route.
Yes. Every Southam medical job runs with timestamped collection and delivery records, named-recipient verification at the destination, and a signed POD that's retained and available for audit. Customers can also specify additional handover-point documentation as required.
Yes. The Maine Couriers control room operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Southam medical bookings can be made at any time — including bank holidays, Christmas, and overnight — at the same rate as standard hours.
